Skiing and Boarding in La Rosiere . . .
Set within 3,000 hectares of ski slopes, the Espace San Bernadino's 150 kms of pistes are spread between France and Italy. There's something for everyone in La Rosiere, from beginners through to expert skiers and boarders. The wide open rolling blues ensure that beginners don't spend all their time stuck on the nursery slopes without leaving the village, beginners soon get to rack up the miles all over the mountain. That trip to Italy soon becomes more than just a possibility. The more advanced can sample the delights of Italian skiing and cuisine by venturing to La Thuile, but make sure that pit-stop doesn't take too long and be careful of the 'bombardinos' at the Roxy. For the expert, there's lots of off-piste opportunities. Unlike some of the larger French resorts nearby, La Rosiere's fresh snow doesn't get tracked out in a matter of hours. It's not uncommon to see instructors from Val D'Isere, Tignes, Les Arcs or even the Trois Vallees bringing their pupils to La Rosiere, when snow conditions are less than ideal in their own resorts.
